TREK forciert seine eigene Talentschmiede
Das Team TREK | VAUDE wird künftig als
TREK FUTURE RACING junge Talente ausbilden
Fast genau 2 Jahre ist es her, als sich das Team TREK | VAUDE in der olympischen Cross Country Disziplin (XCO) zu Wort meldete. Seither hat sich das Team einen Namen als „Talentschmiede“ gemacht.
Mit dieser Erfolgsgeschichte hatte zu Beginn niemand gerechnet, selbst der Teamchef Bernd Reutemann nicht. „Wir wollten in unserer ersten XCO-Saison erst einmal reinkommen. Dann kam alles anders, wir gewannen mit unserem Team alle U23-Weltcups, 2 WM-Titel, 2 EM-Titel, sowie 3 Landesmeister-Titel. Es ging alles sehr schnell. Unser Ziel war und ist es, junge Talente an die Weltspitze heranzuführen, unter Berücksichtigung der Athlet:innengesundheit. Diesem Ziel kommen wir ab 2023 noch ein ganzes Stück näher.“
Der neue Teamname wird dabei Programm: TREK FUTURE RACING wird die Talentschmiede für TREK FACTORY RACING und fokussiert sich voll auf die Ausbildung von Talenten aus der ganzen Welt.
Ein wichtiger Partner der vergangenen Jahre wird dabei jedoch fehlen. VAUDE wird sein Engagement im Team nicht fortsetzen und anders ausrichten.
„Ich bedaure es persönlich sehr, dass wir den nächsten Schritt nicht gemeinsam gehen können, umso dankbarer bin ich für die großartige Unterstützung, welche unser Team von VAUDE erhalten hat“, so Reutemann.
„Nach zwei Jahren voller gemeinsamer Erlebnisse, spektakulären Siegen der Athlet:innen und einer tollen Zusammenarbeit, wird nun ein neues Kapitel aufgeschlagen, welches wir aus strategischen Gründen nicht mehr weiter begleiten werden. Wir sagen Danke für die schöne Zeit, wünschen dem Team viel Erfolg und drücken weiterhin fest die Daumen“, sagt Leo Jelko (VAUDE Sponsoring-Manager).

TREK FUTURE RACING wird sich dank einer Reihe neuer Partner noch professioneller als bisher aufstellen und sein Development-Konzept ausweiten.
Das Trainerteam wird ergänzt durch Dr. Jürgen Grunwald, welcher als Teamarzt für die Bereiche Nutrition und Athletengesundheit verantwortlich zeichnet. Sven Meyer (vormals BRD Bundestrainer Bahn/Ausdauer) wird die Position des Performance-Coachs übernehmen. Das Betreuungsteam umfasst 10 Personen und bildet die Grundlage für einen optimalen Support für die jungen Athleten.
Der Kader wird internationaler ausgerichtet. Alle U23-Athleten der Saison 2022 verbleiben im Team.

Das Konzept des Teams sieht vor, dass im ersten U23-Jahr, so wie bei Lea Huber, der Fokus auf Schule bzw. Ausbildung liegt und die jungen Talente langsam an das Leben in einem professionellen Team herangeführt werden.
TREK FUTURE RACING konzentriert sich auf die Suche und Ausbildung von jungen Talenten. Bereits im November hat das Team in Zusammenarbeit mit TREK das TREK Talent Scouting im Rahmen eines Pilotprojektes in Deutschland gestartet. Mehr als 200 junge Talente hatten sich innerhalb von 7 Tagen für dieses Nachwuchsprogramm beworben.
„Wir möchten mit dem TREK FUTURE RACING die Lücke zwischen lokal unterstützen Athleten und TREK FACTORY RACING schließen. Darüber hinaus möchten wir mit unserem Talent Scouting Programm einer breiten Basis an Talenten ein mögliches Sprungbrett für ihre weitere Entwicklung bieten. The Story
OK, it’s the most famous glacier in the world. You can’t expect solitude here; every fifteen minutes a busload of tourists is released in the direction of the viewing platforms. And yet the sight of the Perito Moreno Glacier in Patagonia with its 4-km wide and 60 m high escarpment has something touching, something incomprehensible about it. It is a natural spectacle that takes your breath away and that instinctively describes the relationship between man and nature. Humility and tranquil joy of existence seizes every viewer.

Ralf Gantzhorn was born in 1964, holds a M.S. in Geology – and has even worked as a geologist (as an independent consultant in the contamination sector). He has been climbing since 1983 and working as a photographer since 1985. As a northern German, he is always torn between the far too distant mountains and the fresh sea air, but he’s found a compromise in Scandinavia, Scotland and Patagonia (where he has now spent over three years). He enjoys organizing trips in areas where unfamiliar vistas – which haven’t already been photographed 1000 times – lure from every corner. He often experiences his images as far too static, but then is pleased with the abundance of triangles in the structure and the fantastic light.

The picture was taken on the summit of Marmolada after an ascent of the Vinatzer/Messner on the south wall. We didn’t reach the summit until 10:00 p.m. so we bivouacke (planned) there. We woke up to this riot of color …
