NEWS: Platz 7 beim Mountainbike-Fest des Jahres 😊
Die Organisatoren der Salzkammergut Trophy verwandelten Bad Goisern in den letzten 3 Tagen wieder einmal in einen Ort, wo sich 3000 Starter/innen (auf 7 verschiedenen Strecken) und Tausende Zuseher aus der ganzen Welt trafen und gemeinsam ein wunderschönes Rad-Fest feierten – DANKE!!!
Ich wollte für Dich wieder einen Film vom Event machen, leider funktionierte dies nicht so wie geplant – hier gibt es ein kurzes geniales Video von mir welches die Stimmung am Samstag um 21:15 Uhr im Zielgelände zeigt, als die letzten A-Strecken-Fahrer nach über 16 Stunden am Sattel ins Ziel kamen.. 🙂
Meine 8. Teilnahme auf der Extremstrecke (A-Strecke) mit 213 Kilometern und 7059 Höhenmeter begann traditionell bereits um 5 Uhr morgens.. Die ersten Stunden war das Tempo unglaublich hoch und ich fand auch einen super Rhythmus – oben am ersten Berg war ich noch auf Platz 9 und drei Berge später bereits auf Platz 5.. Bei meinen ersten sieben Teilnahmen hatte ich nie ein technisches Problem, heuer war es vorbei mit dem Glück und ich hatte nach ca. 80 Kilometer einen Reifenschaden.. 🙁 Gott sei Dank schaffte ich es noch halbwegs schnell zur nächsten Verpflegungsstelle, wo ich ein neues Laufrad bekam und konnte so mein Rennen fortsetzen.. Am Ende hatte ich schließlich einen, für meine Verhältnisse, großen Einbruch und die letzten Kilometer ins Ziel waren unglaublich hart.. Nach 10 Stunden und 15 Minuten fuhr ich als 7. von mehr als 400 Startern über die Ziellinie..
Es ist meine bisher beste Zeit, jedoch nicht mein bestes Ergebnis – ich kann Euch nur versprechen, dass ich in Zukunft noch besser trainieren werde um mir einmal den Traum vom „Sieg zu Hause“ erfüllen zu können.. 🙂
Jetzt gibt es einmal eine kurze Pause, bevor es am Dienstag beim City Hill Climb Graz und danach mit genialen internationalen Events weitergeht.. Hier gibt`s meinen Film über den Kitzbüheler Radmarathon für Dich..

The Story
OK, it’s the most famous glacier in the world. You can’t expect solitude here; every fifteen minutes a busload of tourists is released in the direction of the viewing platforms. And yet the sight of the Perito Moreno Glacier in Patagonia with its 4-km wide and 60 m high escarpment has something touching, something incomprehensible about it. It is a natural spectacle that takes your breath away and that instinctively describes the relationship between man and nature. Humility and tranquil joy of existence seizes every viewer.
The Photographer
Ralf Gantzhorn was born in 1964, holds a M.S. in Geology – and has even worked as a geologist (as an independent consultant in the contamination sector). He has been climbing since 1983 and working as a photographer since 1985. As a northern German, he is always torn between the far too distant mountains and the fresh sea air, but he’s found a compromise in Scandinavia, Scotland and Patagonia (where he has now spent over three years). He enjoys organizing trips in areas where unfamiliar vistas – which haven’t already been photographed 1000 times – lure from every corner. He often experiences his images as far too static, but then is pleased with the abundance of triangles in the structure and the fantastic light.

The picture was taken on the summit of Marmolada after an ascent of the Vinatzer/Messner on the south wall. We didn’t reach the summit until 10:00 p.m. so we bivouacke (planned) there. We woke up to this riot of color …
