Doppelsieg bei der Alb Gold Tropy Stefanie Dohrn und Vinzent Dorn stehen ganz oben auf dem Podium
Der Herbstklassiker und für viele alljährliche Saisonabschluss “Alb Gold Tropy” auf der Schwäbischen Alb fand auf Grund der Corona-Pandemie mit einer verkürzten Renndistanz über 48 Kilometer und 810 Höhenmeter statt. Somit war klar, dass es ein schnelles Rennen – in diesem Jahr sogar bei Sonnenschein – über die Alb geben würde. Vom Team Centurion-Vaude waren Stefanie Dohrn, Vinzent Dorn und Jochen Käß am Start und wollten zum Abschluss dieser ungewöhnlichen Saison sich nochmals präsentieren.
Wie erwartet entwickelte sich von Beginn an auf der schnellen Strecke ein Rennverlauf, welcher sehr taktisch und geprägt von vielen kurzen Attacken war. Die Entscheidung in der Lizenzklasse bei den Herren fiel dabei erst am Ende des Rennens. Vinzent Dorn war von Beginn an in der Führungsgruppe und machte seinen Gegnern durch häufige Attacken das Leben schwer, was sich am Ende auszahlte. Vinzent Dorn sicherte sich in einer Zeit von 1:26:58 den Tagessieg vor den Routiniers Matthias Alberti (KTM Racing Team) und Markus Kaufmann (Texpa Simplon). Jochen Käß kam auf Platz 6 ins Ziel und konnte nach einem unglücklichen Start noch viele Plätze gut machen.
Jochen Käß geht bereits am Mittwoch 07.10.2020, bei Weltmeisterschaft in Leogang im e-MTB als amtierender deutscher Meister an den Start. „Ich werde wie immer alles geben und hoffe auf ein Top-Platzierung. Das Starterfeld ist mit Top-Fahrern aus Cross-Country und Marathon besetzt und somit wird es spannend, wer am Ende die Nase vorne hat“, so Jochen Käß kurz vor der Abreise nach Leogang.
Ein etwas anderer Rennverlauf zeigte sich bei den Damen.
Hier dominierte Stefanie Dohrn das Rennen von Beginn an. Mit zwei Minuten nach den Elite-Männern startete das Damenfeld und bereits nach kurzer Zeit hatte Stefanie Dohrn zu den ersten Männern aufgeschlossen. Nach einem beherzten Rennen erreichte Stefanie Dohrn das Ziel in einer Zeit von 1:38.07 und sicherte sich den Sieg bei der Alb Gold Trophy 2020. Auf Rang 2 kam Paulina Wörz (RSC Kempten), gefolgt von Katharina Kurz.
„Unser besonderer Dank gilt den Organisatoren der Albgold-Trophy 2020, welche es uns ermöglicht haben an diesem Wochenende nochmals ein Rennen zu fahren und wir sind sehr stolz auf unsere Sportler, welche heute ihre Leistungsfähigkeit bewiesen haben,“ berichtet Gabi Stanger, welche vor zwei Jahren an diesem Ort ihre Profi-Karriere beendete.
Mit großen Schritten geht es dem Ende der Saison entgegen. Kommende Wochen treten Daniel Geismayr und Ben Zwiehoff in Elba in die Pedale und bereiten sich auf die Weltmeisterschaft vor und Vinzent Dorn wird bei der Deutschen Meisterschaft im Cross-Country an den Start gehen.

The Story
OK, it’s the most famous glacier in the world. You can’t expect solitude here; every fifteen minutes a busload of tourists is released in the direction of the viewing platforms. And yet the sight of the Perito Moreno Glacier in Patagonia with its 4-km wide and 60 m high escarpment has something touching, something incomprehensible about it. He has been climbing since 1983 and working as a photographer since 1985. As a northern German, he is always torn between the far too distant mountains and the fresh sea air, but he’s found a compromise in Scandinavia, Scotland and Patagonia (where he has now spent over three years). He enjoys organizing trips in areas where unfamiliar vistas – which haven’t already been photographed 1000 times – lure from every corner. He often experiences his images as far too static, but then is pleased with the abundance of triangles in the structure and the fantastic light.

The picture was taken on the summit of Marmolada after an ascent of the Vinatzer/Messner on the south wall. We didn’t reach the summit until 10:00 p.m. so we bivouacke (planned) there. We woke up to this riot of color …
